Generate Scorecard - Shootout
Welcome to our quick start guide designed for pickleball club organizers using our software. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, our user-friendly platform is tailored to streamline the process of organizing and managing successful Shootouts. In this guide, we'll walk you through the essential steps, empowering you to create engaging and well-organized events for your pickleball community. Let's make your next Shootout a seamless and memorable experience!
1. On the left navigation menu, select Generate Scorecard and choose Shootouts.
2. Subsequently, select the group for which you intend to generate the scorecard. If you've organized an event with participant sign-ups, pick that event from the second dropdown menu. In case you're creating the scorecard from scratch without an existing event, input the name, date, and time of your Shootout.
Afterward, specify the number of rounds you wish the shootout to encompass and indicate whether you'd like to promote one player and demote another for the second round of games.
In the court preferences section, decide whether you prefer exclusively four-player courts, four players per court with the option of five-player courts if necessary, exclusively five-player courts, or five players per court initially followed by four-player courts if needed.
In instances where I have both four and five-player courts, I usually set the four-player courts to play up to 15 points and the five-player courts to play up to 11 points. This ensures that the games conclude approximately simultaneously.
3. If you've chosen an event from the second dropdown at the top of the page, players who have signed up will be marked with a checkmark next to their names in the table at the bottom of the page. For those starting the shootout from scratch, it's necessary to mark the players who will participate in the event.
Once you have four or more players marked, specify the number of available courts in the additional court information section. The program will automatically generate the courts displayed on your scorecard based on court availability and the number of players marked.
If there are more players marked than available courts, the program will generate a second time slot.
Following this, proceed to select Court Layout Preview.
4. In this view, you have the opportunity to preview your courts prior to the establishing the Shootout. By clicking on the double arrow located to the right of a player's name and holding down on that arrow, you can effortlessly drag and drop a player to any position within the list of courts.
Once content with the court layout, opt for "Save This Setup." Following the successful saving of the setup, proceed to click "Create Shootout."
5. Congratulations! You have created your first Shootout.
Now, you have the option to email the scorecard to participating players and print copies for each court if you prefer to distribute physical copies on the day of play.
Inputting the scores is straightforward. Simply click on the initial box in the first column to input the score for the first game.
6. After completing the initial round of three games on each court, you create the second round of games by selecting the radio button located at the top right corner of each court, labeled "Both." Clicking this button will reveal both round one and round two.
As depicted in the image below, the participant with the lowest percentage on each court in round one was relocated to the court below for round two. Conversely, the participant with the highest percentage on each court in round one was moved to the court above for round two.
7. Once you have completed entering all the scores for both rounds one and two, click the Actions button at the top of the page and select View Standings.
8. You are now redirected to the standings table, presenting a list of players and their percentages in ascending order. This table is accessible to both admins and participants of the Shootout.
9. If you need to access an existing scorecard to enter scores for a shootout, on the left navigation menu, click Standings and select Shootouts.
10. Select the appropriate group from the first pulldown.
11. Select your existing scorecard from the second pulldown. Then, click the Actions button and select View Scorecard. Here, you will have the ability to input the scores.
